    Contra Costa Lawyer

    March 1, 2019



    On October 26, 2018, Judge Linda Lye was appointed to the California Superior Court, County of Contra Costa. Judge Lye was officially sworn in by then-Presiding Judge Jill Fannin and took the bench on November 26, 2018. Judge Lye is now hearing cases in Department 29 at the Richmond Courthouse.

    When it comes to jury selection, multitasking is crucial. Managing the procedures, building a rapport with jurors, exposing jurors who are bad for your case, these are some of the many tasks associated with jury selection. In this program, mock jurors will respond to questioning from both plaintiff and defense counsel in a class action case. Both sides of the case will target their questions according to the mock juror's questionnaire responses. This panel will provide a live-action interaction and discuss best practices for questioning jurors in other cases.
