    Topics

    • Sources for researching international human rights treaties, jurisprudence, and soft law
    • Databases for specific thematic or geographic searches
    • Limitations of existing databases, including how often or recently they are updated

Beth W. Mora, Esq.—Managing Partner/Owner Mora Employment Law, APC
    Christina Weed, Esq.

There could be significant tax consequences of an employment law settlement that every employer, employee, and their attorneys should carefully consider before reaching a settlement.  The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has greatly added to the complexity and uncertainty that exists with respect to the income tax treatment for parties to such settlements. A discussion of the intricacies of the tax implications of the employment law settlements, including the best way to address such tax issues in the settlement agreement itself, will be discussed by Tax Section chair Christina Weed and employment law attorney Beth Mora.

Beth W. Mora owner of MORA EMPLOYMENT LAW, a law firm dedicated to representing victimized employees, is a zealous and skilled advocate for those facing a wide range of employment law issues. Ms. Mora is committed to aggressively pursuing her clients' best interests while treating each person she serves with integrity and compassion.

Christina Weed is a licensed attorney with an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
