After a brief introduction by Judge Sugiyama, the presentation will be directed at probate practitioners as a refresher on jury trial practice and procedure, with an eye toward those topics considered most important by the court.

Two experienced trial lawyers offer this primer on state court civil jury trials directed to probate litigators with little or no jury trial experience. We will cover the basics: jury (de-)selection, voir dire, peremptory and for-cause challenges, jury instructions, opening statements, effective use of demonstrative exhibits, closing arguments, and more.
