Session 1: Practical and Ethical Issues When Your Case Goes Sideways (Ethics Credit)
Time Slot: 9:00 to 10:30 (1.5 hours)
Description: What do you do when your client, or the opposing party, or the opposing attorney goes sideways in the middle of your mediation? Experienced mediators from the DFEH, EEOC, and the bench will discuss ethical issues and strategies for avoiding or overcoming mediation obstacles.

Description: Are certain settlement terms deal breakers? Should they be? Knowledgeable and practiced litigators discuss terms to avoid or require in your next settlement agreement as well as the tax implications of settlement agreements.

Description: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what about the value of my case. No two attorneys (or clients) value cases in the same way. See what makes a case more or less valuable from a plaintiff’s and a defense perspective.
