FREE TRAINING
This full-day Strategies 2.0 training is intended for family strengthening professionals as well as legal professionals that work with children and families who may have experienced trauma. By the end of the day, participants will be able to define the types of trauma, describe the impact of trauma on the development and well-being of children, adults, and family support staff, and identify strategies for responding to trauma and resisting re-traumatization.

Speakers
Lucy Hernandez is a Strategies 2.0 Trainer with over 20 years as human service professional and administrator managing multi-million budgets. She has developed teams and professional staff in public agencies & non-profits in CA for almost 20 years, developing recognized programs & models in CA. As a professional, she has lead over 200 employees in building strong, effective, and innovative community programs for low-income and vulnerable residents in both rural and urban communities, receiving state and national recognition. Lucy’s passion is training and building communities using a collective impact model and supporting local efforts to build awareness, community engagement & leadership development to succeed as one! Lucy has a Bachelor’s of Science from CSU, Chico and currently in the Executive Masters in Business Administration Program at Sonoma State University. You will always see Lucy with a cup of coffee when training! She loves her coffee.
Senta Burton is a Strategies 2.0 trainer with over 25 years of experience working with child welfare, juvenile probation, private and court-mandated adoptions, addiction and domestic violence programs. She currently works for The Butte Foster Kinship Education Program in Chico, California as the lead trainer for the Resource Family Approval (RFA) Program. Senta also presents workshops on Grief and Loss, Attachment, Parenting the Substance Exposed Child, as well as several parenting and trauma-informed topics. Senta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Drug and Alcohol Studies from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in mental health at California State University, Chico with an eagerly anticipated graduation date of May 17, 2018. Participants of Senta’s training have expressed an appreciation for Senta’s open, down-to-earth, humorous, non-judgmental, nurturing approach.
