Brian O’Toole is a partner at Hanson O’Toole, LLP, a Pleasant Hill law firm with expertise in estate planning and elder law issues. In addition to providing traditional estate planning services, he helps families navigate the legal and financial issues that arise when a loved one requires long-term skilled care.
Brian is a graduate of UC Hastings, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and was named to the 2016 California Super Lawyers Rising Stars List
Matthew Avedikian is a member of Hanson O’Toole, LLP and a principal of Avedikian Law Offices. In addition to his current specializations in elder law, estate planning and trust administration, Matt began his career counseling business owners on entity formations, asset acquisitions and commercial real estate transactions. This background makes Matt uniquely qualified to counsel individuals and families with complex financial arrangements through all stages of the Medi-Cal process, from initial eligibility through protecting against eventual estate recovery claims.
Matt is a 2007 graduate of U.C. Hastings. Prior to establishing his own practice with his wife and fellow Hastings classmate, Matt was an associate in the Walnut Creek office of Fitzgerald Abbott & Beardsley (now Donahue Fitzgerald). During law school, Matt clerked on two occasions for The Honorable James A. Ardaiz (Ret.), former Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal, Fifth District.
