Every year, the San Francisco Paralegal Association awards a scholarship prize to a student member of the Association who writes an essay about an issue important to the paralegal profession in California.  This year's prize is $1,000.00.

The winner of the scholarship will receive the award at the Association's Annual Meeting, to be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the San Francisco Bar Association at 301 Battery Street in San Francisco, CA.  If you have any questions about the scholarship, please send your questions to info@sfpa.com.  We look forward to receiving your essays!

ESSAY PROMPT:  Technology Competency Requirements: Discuss the ethical requirements of the legal profession in technology competency, and address the role of paralegals in fulfilling these requirements.  Students should cite to, at minimum, three (3) relevant case law, statutes, or applicable court rules.

RULES & GUIDELINES:

• All Submissions are due no later than Monday October 1 at 5:00 P.M.
  
• You must be a current student member of the SFPA prior to submission.
  
• Format:  1,000 word maximum, double spaced, 12 point-font.  PDF readable or Word document.  Essay must be typed.  No handwritten entries.
  
• One entry per student.
  
• Please submit your essay to info@sfpa.com with ESSAY ENTRY in the subject line.  In your email, please include the name of your school and expected date of graduation.
